Favorite Beauty Products

Think you have to spend a fortune on essential beauty products? Think again. These are my top three favorite beauty products that I've been using for years and guess what....I spend a total of about $5 for all three of them TOGETHER! And they last a really long time. Want me to pick your mouth up off the floor for you? You guys, these products are amazing! You might not have known that you can use Hydrogen Peroxide and Witch Hazel as beauty products...

Hydrogen Peroxide ($.83 at Walmart): This is used as a teeth whitener! I've been using this for about 8 years (after my grandparents shared this secret with me from their dentist). People are always asking me how I get my teeth so white and this is the only whitener I ever use.

Directions: Mix peroxide with an equal amount of water and swish around for about a minute. Spit, then I wait about 5 minutes before rinsing my mouth with water so that it can sit on my teeth a little longer. I do this after brushing my teeth about every other day! The results, if you stick with it, are amazing!! (Be sure to never swallow any of the peroxide/water mixture.)

Witch Hazel ($.83 at Walmart): This is used as an astringent! This really helps my face to stay clear of any blemishes. It also helps get off any makeup your face wash left behind!

Directions: Pour onto cotton ball and rub over face after washing with your daily face wash. I usually do this morning and night!

Biotin (1000 mcg, $2.94 at Walmart): This is for healthy hair, skin, and nails! About three years ago, I was at the hair salon talking to the hairstylist about how I was trying to get my hair healthy after I went through a regretful season of bleaching it. My hair was pretty fried and didn't grow very fast at all. The lady told me to start taking Biotin. I immediately started taking it and it wasn't long before I began to see amazing results! Today, my hair is as healthy as it's ever been. I don't have split ends and my hair has been growing so fast! I also noticed a big difference in my nails as well. They were always kind of frail before and now they're strong and grow fast too!

Directions: Simple. Take one everyday!

Cleaning in Pearls (Why Not?!)

I recently found these leggings on sale at Charlotte Russe for $5. I had to have them! They're so fun and they just make me so happy:)

Today I'm home having a much needed cleaning day! Who says you can't wear lipstick and pearls while cleaning toilets? I like to turn on Frank Sinatra and dance around from room to room. I feel like a housewife in the 50s and it makes cleaning so much more fun! So next time you stay home to clean, throw your hair up with a cute bow and put on your favorite lipstick and pearls. You'll feel like you can conquer anything....or at least that massive pile of laundry that's been calling your name.

Baby, It's Cold Outside

The inspiration behind this outfit was basically, "How many layers can I throw on to stay warm when it's bum numbin' degrees outside?!" Sometimes it's hard to be inspired to dress cute when all I want to do is hide under a million layers of oversized Goodwill sweaters that are far from flattering, but oh so warm and cozy. Sometimes you just have to pay a visit to Frumptown and pull out those grandpa sweaters, am I right?! But since I was going to be facing other humans today, I talked myself out of the grandpa sweaters and made an attempt to still look put together while staying warm.

Can we talk about how much I love my new Betsey Johnson bag? I found it at Ross for $39.99 (so my husband got it for me for Christmas), which was a crazy deal considering how much that brand normally costs. I love shopping at Ross, Marshalls, and T.J. Maxx because you can find name brand items for really cheap!

I love getting dressed everyday. I start with a blank slate and get to choose what I'm going to create. I get a rush of excitement when I wake up in the morning and walk in my closet with so many possibilities hanging all around me! That might sound a little cheesy, but getting dressed is like an art to me. We all have to get dressed everyday, so why not make it fun? Don't be afraid to try new things with your wardrobe this week. Mix patterns...throw a bunch of funky jewelry over top of a plain outfit... Make getting dressed not just something you have to do everyday, but a fun adventure with endless possibilities! We make a statement with how we dress. What will you choose to say today?

So this shoot was quite hilarious... It was about 20 painful degrees out so my husband and I ran outside and shot as many pictures as we could, in literally two minutes, and just hoped that we got something that would work. Brandon couldn't feel his hands to take the pictures and I had tears rolling down my face from the crazy, cold wind that was blowing. I just started laughing during all of it because we looked ridiculous. It was so cooooooold!

It's a celebration! This is my first post on my newly launched fashion blog! I've always had an interest in fashion and have been wanting to start a fashion blog for a while and am excited to finally be doing it. I love clothes, but I don't like spending a lot of money on them. I rarely pay full price unless they're already at a low price to begin with.
